Why it exists

The EU's legislative and political machinery is among the most complex in the world. Decisions emerge from overlapping institutional processes spread across multiple cities and 27 member states. The procedural and political dynamics are arcane even to specialists.

The sheer volume and fragmentation of information means that even well-resourced teams are working with incomplete pictures. Important developments slip through. Not because nobody reported them, but because the connections between them weren't visible.

Robert exists to close that gap: making the EU's policy output readable, connected, and useful. The aim is to give all stakeholders, not just the best-connected, the means to follow and shape the policies that affect them.

How it works

1

Collect & process

15 automated connectors pull from hundreds of source feeds across EU institutions, regulatory agencies, courts, policy media, think tanks, and industry bodies. Each document is processed by a specialised extraction layer to identify who’s involved, what legislation is referenced, and what kind of development it represents.

2

Analyse & connect

New information is matched to the policy dossiers it relates to and cross-referenced against what the system already knows. The system tracks how positions evolve, generates forward-looking predictions with confidence levels, and surfaces patterns across institutions that no single source would reveal.

3

Verify & correct

A separate verification layer checks new signals against existing assessments for contradictions. When the evidence changes, the system flags it rather than silently updating. Stale analysis, missed deadlines, and factual inconsistencies are caught and surfaced automatically.

4

Brief & alert

An editorial-quality morning report by 07:00 CET synthesises what changed overnight, what it means for your dossiers, and what’s coming next. Breaking developments trigger immediate alerts. Weekly strategic analysis and deep-dive articles cover longer-term trends.

5

Track & predict

Each policy dossier is maintained as a living file. The system follows its progress through the legislative pipeline, analyses amendments and legislative documents as they appear, and records which actors are taking which positions and how those positions shift over time. It maintains a running confidence assessment grounded in evidence, generates forward-looking predictions, and flags when new developments contradict the current picture.

What you receive

Tailored morning briefings

Structured intelligence reports built around the policy dossiers you select. Each briefing synthesises overnight developments, what changed and why it matters, and what’s coming next. Every claim links to its underlying evidence. Delivered by 07:00 CET.

Breaking alerts

Significant developments trigger immediate alerts with context: what happened, which dossiers are affected, and how it changes the current assessment.

Legislative and procedural analysis

The system tracks where each dossier sits in the EU legislative pipeline, analyses amendments and legislative documents as they appear, and assesses procedural dynamics: which stage a proposal has reached, where the political friction points are, and what the likely next steps look like.

Strategic analysis and predictions

Weekly per-dossier strategic assessments with forward-looking predictions and explicit confidence levels. Predictions are tracked over time and scored against outcomes.

Deep-dive articles

Longer-form analysis generated when the system detects that a dossier warrants it: a spike in activity, a trajectory change, or a looming deadline. Plus weekly retrospectives and week-ahead previews.

Source coverage

Robert draws from hundreds of source feeds across official EU channels, regulatory agencies, courts, policy media, think tanks, industry groups, and specialist newsletters. Expand any category below to see what's covered.

What makes it different

Evidence traceability

Every analytical claim links back to the source material it’s based on. You can trace from any insight in a briefing through to the underlying analysis, the individual pieces of information it draws on, and the original sources. Nothing is asserted without a verifiable trail.

Self-correction

When new signals contradict an existing assessment, the system flags the contradiction rather than silently updating. Stale analysis, missed deadlines, and factual inconsistencies are caught automatically by a dedicated verification layer.

Cross-institutional analysis

Important developments often emerge from the intersection of activity across institutions. The system maps these connections across sources, surfacing patterns that no single feed would reveal.

Analysis over aggregation

Rather than aggregating headlines, the system builds up a picture over time, tracking how positions evolve and where legislation is heading. When new information contradicts earlier analysis, that’s flagged explicitly.

Any policy area, not just the popular ones

Most policy monitoring services concentrate on areas with the highest commercial demand: digital regulation, financial services, trade. Robert’s infrastructure is topic-agnostic. The same analytical pipeline that tracks the AI Act works equally well for fisheries policy, development cooperation, or consumer protection. If it touches EU policy, the system can monitor and analyse it.
